Every dynamic (moving) entity in D-WORLD is considered an asset, and its behavior is modelled, or interfaced, in the D-ASSETS software layer. Many assets, that play a role in collaborative training provided to the Royal Netherlands Airforce (RNLAF), have been modelled and added to the virtual world. Some with lower fidelity, such as vehicle convoys, and some with extremely high fidelity suitable for full flight simulation, such as some RNLAF helicopters (AH-64, AS-532, CH-47).
Custom simulators can be added to D-WORLD as an additional asset that has full interaction with all the other assets. Synchronization takes place using D–SIM. The architecture makes it possible to combine a virtually unlimited number of simulators in a simulation to enable true collaborative training.
